About the RPCNB

The Railroad Passenger Car Numbering Bureau (RPCNB), established in 2002, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Railroad Passenger Car Alliance (RPCA) and provides services to RPCA members.

RPCNB offers car and locomotive Umler services under its assigned reporting mark for RPCA members. Additionally, RPCNB assists member shops by uploading inspection data, such as air date and locomotive inspections, using the RPCNB-assigned shop code.

To use RPCNB services, you must be a current RPCA member in good standing. The subscription period for equipment registrations runs from July 1 to June 30, and subscriptions for your equipment must be renewed annually.
